A JCPL librarian interviews published writers about their favorite writing prompts—exercises that can help inspire, focus, and improve your creative writing. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, a novelist, essayist, or poet, you’ll find ideas and advice to motivate you to keep writing.

Mother Goose Storytime gives parents/caregivers and young children ages 0-2 time to enjoy books and reading together. Interaction between you and your child is encouraged through stories, lap songs, and fingerplays.

Preschool Storytime is designed for families with children 3–5 years old. This program includes a 25–30-minute group time with outstanding stories, poetry, fingerplays, singing, and dancing. After that, you and your child will interact with a story one-on-one. Finally, enjoy an additional 10–15 minutes of an age-appropriate art project, physical activity, or dramatic play.

Join us as we sing and dance to your favorite storytime songs and rhymes! This high-energy program is geared toward kids 0–5 years of age. You and your child can have fun together as you enjoy age-appropriate songs, rhymes, and fingerplays. Certified REFIT instructor Karen Adams leads a fun movement class to work on cardio, toning, balance, and mobility! This one-hour class is low to mid-intensity—with no equipment needed—so everyone can have fun. Be sure to bring water, leave your insecurities at the door, and see how fun and exercise can work together.

Erica Hill welcomes all ages and abilities to this lively SilverSneakers exercise class! Whether seated or standing, everyone can gain strength and stability through gentle movement. This class has a maximum capacity of 30 people, so be sure to register to reserve your spot.

Learn the basic functions of creating contour cut lines and exporting PDFs to print on the vinyl printer/cutter.  The Roland Vinyl Printer/Cutter can print vinyl stickers, heat press transfer, photo paper, and banners.

This storytime is for families with children 0–5 years old.

Spend quality time together as you enjoy stories, lap songs, fingerplays, singing, and dancing. Paint, draw, sculpt, and more! Art for Kids gives children in kindergarten through 5th grade the opportunity to develop their artistic skills while learning about different techniques, mediums, and artists. All supplies are provided.

 

Join us for an opportunity to learn about and play Dungeons & Dragons, the classic fantasy tabletop role-playing game! No prior experience is required.
