Event Details

Entering the wonderful world of reading is an accomplishment that deserves celebration!

JCPL is proud to offer the Literacy Bell Program which applauds children who have read their first book independently. If your child has read their first book by themselves within the past year, they are invited to attend an exclusive party celebrating their accomplishment.

At this special event, children will have the honor of ringing the Jessamine County Courthouse bell. In addition to ringing the bell, your child will enter their name and date into the “Book of Names” and receive a certificate honoring this momentous occasion.

Registration is required for each child participating. Please list only the name of the child who is participating in the ceremony on the registration form. We do not require registration for friends and family members who attend with the child.
